IDP Fantasy 2023 – Waiver Wire Targets for Week 16

The fantasy playoffs continue in Week 16, and if you are lucky enough to still be in contention you will want to get your waiver moves just right. These are the IDP players you should be targeting ahead of Week 16.

Defensive line

Jonathan Allen, Washington Commanders – There’s a simple rule to follow in IDP this season. Find a defensive lineman playing against the Jets and start him. That’s the case with Allen in Week 16. Expect him to do well against a poor offensive line.

Montez Sweat, Chicago Bears – Sweat has been absolutely unblockable since joining Chicago earlier this season. He has six sacks in his last four games and scored 35 points against the Browns in Week 15. He has a favourable matchup against the Cardinals to look forward to this weekend.

Rashan Gary, Green Bay Packers – Gary has been kept fairly quiet through recent weeks, but it is tough to overlook his matchup next week. He faces Bryce Young and a Panthers offense that has looked dire this season and who have allowed a whopping 54 sacks so far this year.

Linebacker

Demario Davis, New Orleans Saints – Davis keeps on performing but for whatever reason always seems to still be available on waivers. He has now scored 60 points through his last two games, with 20 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Azeez Al-Shaair, Tennessee Titans – Al-Shaair has been a very dependable option in IDP this season. He has scored 25+ points twice in the last three weeks and has scored at least 14 points in every game since Week 12. I’d bet that run continues against the Seahawks in Week 16.

EJ Speed, Indianapolis Colts – Speed is the guy you want on this Colts defense. In his last three starts he has racked up 24 tackles and forced a fumble, with two games of 20+ points. He has a nice matchup against the Falcons to look forward to next week.

Defensive back

Jartavius Martin, Washington Commanders – The rookie has been earning more playing time in recent weeks for Washington and he has had some success in IDP terms. He finished Week 15 with 24 points against the Rams and will face the Jets next weekend.

Josh Metellus, Minnesota Vikings – Metellus may only be rostered in 29% of IDP leagues, but he has been a consistent producer this season. He has scored at least 14 points five times since Week 8 and has topped 20 points twice in that period.
