IDP Fantasy 2022 – Waiver Wire Targets for Week 5

Perhaps you have lost one of your star players to injury? Or maybe your team just needs some added reinforcement. Whatever the reason might be for you dipping into the waiver wire, these are the players you should be looking to pick up in IDP fantasy ahead of Week 5.

Defensive line

Gregory Rousseau, Buffalo Bills – Rousseau is blossoming in his second year in the NFL. He is getting in the backfield regularly and has been a reliable IDP scorer so far this season. Through four games he has scored 69 points, with at least 10 points every week. He’s still available in 27% of leagues too, so there is a pretty decent chance you can pick him up.

Rashan Gary, Green Bay Packers – I genuinely do not understand how, but Rashan Gary is available in 37% of IDP leagues. If one of those is yours, I’m very jealous. I’d also be spending a good chunk of my FAAB on him this week. Gary has scored at least 14 points in each game so far this season and has a favourable run of matchups ahead of him, with the Giants, Jets, and Commanders up next.

B.J. Hill, Cincinnati Bengals – If you aren’t lucky enough to have either Rousseau or Gary available in your leagues, I’d suggest you target Hill instead. Whilst he might not offer a super high ceiling, he’s shown himself to have a very reliable floor so far this season. Hill has scored at least 10 points in all four games this season. He’s also rostered in just 18.3% of IDP leagues.

Linebacker

Pete Werner, New Orleans Saints – I know, I know. I’ve had Werner on this list before. But right now, he is available in 41% of IDP leagues. That is despite him being one of the most consistent linebackers in IDP this season. Werner has become a key part of New Orleans’ defense this season and has scored at least 16 points in every game. He is a tackle machine, and you need him on your team.

Frankie Luvu, Carolina Panthers – IDP players don’t get more underappreciated than Frankie Luvu this season. Through four weeks he ranks 16th amongst linebackers, scoring 55 points. Despite all of that, he is rostered in just 32% of IDP leagues. Luvu has the high floor you want in IDP, with at least 12 points in every game. He has also shown he can have the blockbuster games too, with two outings of 30+ points.

Malcolm Rodriguez, Detroit Lions – Rodriguez has been a fan favourite since featuring in Hard Knocks this summer, and he has backed it up with some impressive performances on the field. He has scored at least 12 points per game and is coming off a hugely impressive 24-point game against the Seahawks. It is also encouraging that Rodriguez has seen his snap percentage increase every week this season.

Defensive back

Donovan Wilson, Dallas Cowboys – Wilson might not be the biggest name on this Cowboys team, but it might surprise you to discover that he is outscoring Micah Parsons through Week 4. Wilson has scored 68 points so far this season, which ranks fourth amongst defensive backs. With a reliable volume of tackles and plenty of snaps, Wilson is a no brainer from an IDP perspective.

Cameron Dantzler, Minnesota Vikings – Dantzler has been pretty solid for the Vikings this season and he has shown he has value as an IDP player too. He has scored at least 10 points in each game so far and has scored more points with each week that passes. This culminated in an impressive 21 points against the Saints, where he had five tackles, including one for a loss.

Jaquan Brisker, Chicago Bears – The Bears haven’t had much to smile about this season, but the performance of rookie safety Jaquan Brisker is definitely one of the few highlights. Brisker has scored 58 points through his first four games, which naturally gets you excited about what he could do with a little more experience. With Brisker available in 51% of fantasy leagues I’d get in while you still can.
