IDP Fantasy 2022 – Waiver Wire Targets for Week 12

Perhaps you have lost one of your star players to injury? Or maybe your team just needs some added reinforcement. Whatever the reason might be for you dipping into the waiver wire, these are the players you should be looking to pick up in IDP fantasy ahead of Week 12.

Defensive line

Chris Jones, Kansas City Chiefs – Jones is in amazing form. He is coming off a 32-point game against the Chargers in Week 11 and he has now had at least 16 points in four of his last five games. He has seen a major increase in his backfield production, with seven sacks in five games. That should continue, with favourable matchups against the Rams and Bengals up next.

Grover Stewart, Indianapolis Colts – Stewart has made his name as one of the best run defending interior linemen in football. That has translated nicely to fantasy production this season and he had five straight games of double-digit points before Week 11. Stewart currently sits as the sixth highest scoring defensive lineman since Week 8 yet he is still only rostered in 22.5% of IDP leagues.

Linebackers

Jack Sanborn, Chicago Bears – Sanborn has well and truly stepped into a starting role for the Bears in his rookie season. Since Roquan Smith’s departure he has been averaging 24 points per game. He had another strong outing in Week 11, with nine tackles against the Falcons, scoring 19 points. There’s no reason this can’t continue. I’d look to grab him this week while you still can.

Kaden Elliss, New Orleans Saints – The Saints’ linebackers always seem to be productive in IDP, and Elliss is proof of that. In Pete Werner’s absence he has been outstanding and has now scored 69 points through his last three games. He is also seeing use as a pass rusher, with 24 pass rushing snaps in those three games. Elliss is still only rostered in 11.5% of leagues.

Frankie Luvu, Carolina Panthers – There’s undoubtedly some boom or bust potential to Luvu’s game, but he’s well worth having on your roster. So far this season he has exceeded 25 points three times. He has four games with double digit tackles and has four sacks. That is the kind of form that can single-handedly win you games. Despite that, Luvu is still available in 54% of IDP leagues.

Defensive back

Damar Hamlin, Buffalo Bills – Hamlin might have had a fairly quiet game in Week 11 (eight points against the Browns) but he has been great for the Bills this season. This marked the first time since becoming a starter in Week 3 where he failed to score at least 13 points. Hamlin played every single snap for Buffalo in Week 11 and should get back to his high scoring ways next weekend.

Jayron Kearse, Dallas Cowboys – Kearse has been the third highest scoring defensive back since Week 7, averaging 18.5 points per game over that period. The Cowboys have a really favourable run of games ahead of them and you can expect more of the same from Kearse. He should be a fairly easy pickup too as he is rostered in just 36% of leagues
