Fantasy Football 2022 – Waiver Wire Targets for Week 4

Maybe you’ve lost one of your star players to injury? Or maybe your team has just had a rough start to the season and is in need of some re-investment. Whatever it might be, it makes sense to get ahead of your competition and utilise the waiver wire. These are the players you should be targeting ahead of Week 4.

Running back

Samaje Perine, Cincinnati Bengals – With Joe Mixon suffering an ankle injury in Week 3, it could be worth stashing Perine. He got a decent amount of work in Mixon’s absence and finished the game against the Jets with 14.1 points. The best part is that he is available in 44% of leagues.

Jerrick McKinnon, Kansas City Chiefs – It’s slim pickings at running back this week, but McKinnon could be worth stashing. Whilst he hasn’t made much of an impact yet, he is getting a good amount of playing time. He outsnapped other Chiefs running backs in Week 3 and led the position in routes run.

Wide receiver

Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars – Get in on Jones before it is too late. The Jaguars’ offense is looking vastly improved under Doug Pederson and Jones is a big part of that. Through three weeks he has established himself as a favourite of Trevor Lawrence, earning 24 targets. He has also managed to score 42.3 points. He is still rostered in just 68% of fantasy leagues.

Greg Dortch, Arizona Cardinals – You’d have been forgiven for thinking the first couple of weeks were a fluke from Dortch, but it’s time he gets some respect from a fantasy perspective. He has now scored at least 10 points and racked up 50+ yards in all three games. He is still available in 25% of leagues so make sure to waiver him this week if you can.

Mack Hollins, Las Vegas Raiders – Everyone got excited about the Raiders’ weapons this offseason, but nobody saw Hollins coming. He has earned 18 targets in the last two weeks, scoring a combined 41.5 fantasy points. Some will chalk this up to the absence of Hunter Renfrow, but Hollins has been getting substantial playing time since the opener.

Tight end

Tyler Conklin, New York Jets – Conklin was a surprise fantasy starter last season with the Vikings and he is again with the Jets. He is getting plenty of targets, with 24 through three games. He has also averaged 15 points per game so far, and that’s despite only scoring one touchdown. Conklin projects as the Jets’ TE1 for 2022.

Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars – I’m still not entirely sure how Engram is available in 21% of fantasy leagues. He is the clear TE1 in a Jaguars offense that looks to have found its feet. He didn’t get a tonne of usage against the Chargers, but he is still well worth having on your roster.

Quarterback

Jacoby Brissett, Cleveland Browns – Brissett might not offer the same ceiling as other quarterbacks, but he’s been fairly reliable through the first three weeks. With a favourable matchup against the Falcons in Week 4, he definitely looks worth a waiver request. As things stand, Brissett is rostered in just 54% of leagues.
