2020 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Tight Ends

Having a consistently productive tight end on your fantasy roster can be the difference between winning and losing close games. There is certainly plenty of value to be had at the position as each of these options shows. Each of the players on this list have an ADP much lower than you would expect as a result of their previous history or potential for production in 2020. Here are my top four sleepers for fantasy football this season.

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

Given that he finished 2019 as TE8 it is crazy to thing that Higbee’s ADP currently sits at 10.12. Whilst he may not be the most flashy name, he was consistently productive for the Rams last season, finishing with 734 yards from 69 receptions. Brandin Cooks and Todd Gurley combined for 112 targets in 2019 and with both of them gone you can expect Higbee to fill some of that void and see his targets increase. If you miss out on a top tight end or prioritise other positions, Higbee is a fantastic option in the later rounds.

Hayden Hurst, Atlanta Falcons

Hurst finds himself in Atlanta as the replacement for Austin Hooper and this could be a fantastic season for the former first round pick. This is an offense that not only revolves around the passing game but that is very tight end friendly. Everyone knows that volume is important in fantasy and Hooper had 185 targets over the past two seasons. Hurst was impressive in Baltimore but his production could skyrocket as he is now the undisputed TE1 with the Falcons in 2020. As a potential top ten tight end, his ADP of 12.09 makes this pick a no-brainer.

T.J. Hockenson, Detroit Lions

Hockenson burst out of the blocks in his first NFL game with six receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown, but struggled for consistency in his rookie campaign. He wasn’t helped when the Lions lost Matthew Stafford to injury and Hockenson missed four games himself. He has huge potential and was just the fourth tight end drafted in the top ten in 20 years. He featured on less than 50 per cent of Lions snaps when healthy last season and this should increase significantly in 2020. If he and Stafford can stay on the field he could potentially put up top five numbers this season.

Donald Parham, Los Angeles Chargers

Parham is potentially the deepest of deep sleepers at tight end this season. He almost always seems to be going undrafted, but if you can find room for him on your roster he could be a great depth option. He became the talk of the XFL earlier this year as the 6’8″ Dallas Renegades tight end with 24 receptions for 307 yards and four touchdowns. Whilst the NFL is obviously at a different level, he did look genuinely impressive and now finds himself as potential TE2 behind Hunter Henry. Given Henry’s injury history it is not inconceivable that Parham could find himself as the Chargers’ starter at some point this season.
