College Football Week 10 – Team of the Week

Week 10 saw some great individual performances. A lot of these coming from smaller school players and nine of the players to make this list are from Group of Five schools. Here is my team of the week for Week 10.

QB – Clayton Tune, Houston

Tune was pretty much faultless against USF. He completed 21 of his 26 passes for 385 yards at an average of 14.8 per attempt. He had a very impressive 14.3% big time throw rate whilst throwing three touchdown passes.

RB – Rachaad White, Arizona State

White has been having a really impressive season with the Sun Devils. He had career-highs in carries (28) and rushing yards (202) against USC, whilst finding the end zone on three occasions. He averaged over four yards per carry and forced nine missed tackles.

RB – DeWayne McBride, UAB

McBride ran the Louisiana Tech defense ragged this weekend. He finished up with 210 yards on his 14 carries and had four touchdowns. He averaged an incredible 12.1 yards after contact. His six breakaway runs were the most of any player in college football this weekend.

WR – Jahan Dotson, Penn State

Dotson has been earning plenty of hype as a 2022 Draft prospect and showed why this weekend. He had 11 catches for a career-high 242 yards against Maryland. He scored three touchdowns and didn’t register a single drop on 15 targets.

WR – Jack Sorenson, Miami (OH)

Sorenson entered Week 10 with three consecutive 100+ yard games. He still managed to exceed expectations against Ohio though. He finished with 14 receptions for 283 yards and two touchdowns and accounted for 49.7% of the RedHawks’ total yardage in this game.

TE – Ryan Jones, East Carolina

Jones was a big-play threat for the Pirates this weekend as they dispatched Temple 45-3, racking up six catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged seven yards after the catch and logged a perfect passer rating of 158.3 when targeted.

OT – Braeden Daniels, Utah

Daniels has looked great since he kicked out to tackle in Week 3. He didn’t allow a single pressure across his 23 pass blocking snaps against Stanford this weekend. He was a people mover in the running game too, with his 91.6 PFF run blocking grade leading all tackles.

OT – Logan Bruss, Wisconsin

Bruss has been putting together a strong season in Wisconsin. He didn’t allow a single pressure on his 18 pass blocking snaps this weekend against Rutgers, extending that streak to three games. He also looked strong in the running game, earning an 82.4 PFF run blocking grade.

IOL – Christian Mahogany, Boston College

This is the third time that Mahogany has made this list this season. He was excellent as the Eagles dispatched Virginia Tech 17-3 this weekend. He didn’t allow a pressure in pass protection and continues to be a very impressive run blocker, earning an 87.6 PFF run blocking grade.

IOL – Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa

Linderbaum is the undisputed best center in college football and should be a first round lock in the 2022 Draft. He was a huge part of their impressive ground game against Northwestern and helped the team to rack up 185 rushing yards. In pass protection he was great, marking his fourth consecutive game without allowing a pressure.

IOL – Dohnovan West, Arizona State

Dohnovan West was a big part of the Sun Devils’ successful running game against USC this weekend. He also continues to be one of the most reliable interior pass protectors, not allowing a single pressure on his 25 pass blocking snaps.

IDL – Atlias Bell, Houston

Bell was a difference-maker for Houston against USF. He finished the game with seven pressures on his 27 pass rushing snaps, the highest mark of his career so far. Bell also logged a very impressive 26.9% pass rush win rate.

IDL – Marcus Moore, Utah State

Moore looked great this weekend. He flashed some potential as a pass rusher, with four pressures on his 27 pass rushing snaps. His biggest impact came against the run though, where he had six defensive stops.

EDGE – Jacub Panasiuk, Michigan State

Panasiuk has been utterly unstoppable for the Spartans all season and that continued against Purdue. He racked up an incredible 12 pressures, his second highest total of the season and the most of any Power Five edge rusher. He also logged a 25.5% pass rush win rate.

EDGE – Will McDonald, Iowa State

McDonald is one of a number of very talented edges in the 2022 class and he showed how disruptive he can be this weekend. He finished the game with seven pressures and three sacks on just 20 pass rushing snaps against Texas as the Cyclones won 30-7.

LB – Devin Lloyd, Utah

Lloyd had a pretty much perfect game against USC. He didn’t miss any of his nine tackle attempts and racked up an incredible nine defensive stops. He also managed to round out his game with a sack and an interception, allowing a passer rating of just 16.7.

LB – Jaden Hunter, Western Kentucky

Hunter helped Western Kentucky get a convincing win against Middle Tennessee this weekend. He was excellent as a tackler, with no misses on 11 attempts. His best play came in coverage though, where he allowed just 12 yards on eight targets, whilst also getting an interception.

CB – Steven Jones Jr., Appalachian State

Jones Jr. has shown some potential at the catch point this season and had a great game this weekend. He allowed just 13 yards on his four targets and came up with three interceptions. His passer rating allowed in this game was just 1.0.

CB – Marcus Jones, Houston

Jones finds himself on this list in back-to-back weeks now. This weekend he allowed a paltry 53 yards on his 10 targets against USF. He also showed off his ball production, contributing an interception and three pass breakups.

CB – Jaylon Jones, Texas A&M

Jones helped the Aggies to a strong win over Auburn this weekend. He was brilliant in coverage, conceding just 32 yards on his nine targets. He showed up at the catch point too, providing a pick and two pass breakups.

S – Matthew Criddle, BYU

Criddle made his first start of the season for BYU this weekend and was great from the outset. He allowed just six yards in coverage all game against Idaho State. He also contributed an interception and two pass breakups.

S – Jordan Mosley, Maryland

Mosley had a great game in pretty much every category. He finished with zero misses on his 15 tackle attempts, whilst also getting four defensive stops. He also allowed just six yards in coverage, whilst contributing a pass breakup. Mosley allowed a passer rating of just 56.3 when targeted.
